Ok, so you've asked for more Big Games and we are bringing them to you! Starting Saturday, August 14th, we will be holding a Big Game every Saturday afternoon. So whats a Big Game? What most rec players mean when they say a Big Game is actually a Scenario Game. Its a game that has multiple objectives, a longer time limit, and other special rules. So come out and join us every Saturday for open play from 9am-1pm, grab some lunch, and then get ready for the Big Game! Here are just a few of the games that we are lining up for you:
Flag Wars - Ever play King of the Hill? Well turn it up a few notches and this is what you get! Your team must capture as many flag poles as possible, hoist your team flag, and defend it against all costs! That is until your Captain tells you to move to another location! This game is sure to get the adrenaline flowing!
Mission to Mars - Your team's mission is to collect artifacts from the planet to help prove that there is life on Mars. But watch out for your competition, and not to mention the resident aliens. This game is out of this world! (Cheezy I know...)
Down Pilot - Awesome game with a cool twist: A prototype military plane carrying top secret governement intel has gone down deep in enemy territory. Your mission is to rescue the pilot, destroy the plane, recover the intel, and get out. But this will be no cakewalk. There are enemy forces everywhere. Will you be able to complete the impossible mission?
Man Hunt - Ever play this one as a kid? It's the ultimate neighborhood hide-and-seek! Here's how it goes - it's one man vs. all... Plain and simple. Do you have the guts to go out and avoid being captured? Are you good enough to take out anyone without being discovered? Can you survive?
We have many more games lined up and ready to go! Keep an eye on the calendar and come out and play the Big Games, at Hurricane Mountain Paintball!
Currently the favorite field, trenches is simply that - trenches and mounds of dirt. But don't let the simple description and pleasant pictures fool you! Trenches is a fast-paced, in-your-face field that requires strategy, teamwork, and guts!
Our fort field is situated on a landscape that includes a hillside, clearing, woods, and a ditch that runs along the east side of the fort. There are 2 forts, each with their own unique advantages and disadvantages. More pictures coming soon!
The tire field (aka - the junk yard) is an on-going project. As of now, the field consists of mostly tires, car hoods, and other miscellaneous items. Coming soon we will be adding vehicles and even more tires!
The field is our newest addition and is also an on-going project. Right now it is a field of chest to head-high goldenrod and field grass with paths cut through it. Our plan is to plant bamboo to add a totally different playing experience.
Deep Woods is without a doubt the toughest field at Hurricane Mountain. It is an overgrown woods field with a unique layout including a creek that runs along the length of the field and a tree that fell disecting the field in two. Because it is overgrown, it takes patience and strategy to gain the victory!
This is our 5-man Airball field. The layout will change frequently, ensuring that you will never get tired of the same old field! Come out and play some speedball and check the calendar for our upcoming tournaments.

First Things First: Before coming out to play at Hurricane Mountain, check our calendar to make sure that we are open and not reserved. Download the appropriate Waiver and Release of Liability Form from our Downloads page (we have them available at the Pro Shop too). Players under the age of 18 must have their form signed by their parent or legal guardian. All players must be able to provide picture identification for proof of age and/or rental equipment. We are open almost every Saturday from 8am-4pm. Be sure to show up at least 30 minutes early so that we can get you set up and ready to play. Call ahead if you need rental equipment and we can make sure we have what you need when you arrive. Then get your friends together and come out and play!
Weather: In the event of inclement weather (thunderstorms, tornado warnings, etc.), all games will be postponed until the weather clears. We will play in rain, snow, etc., unless it poses a danger to the players or staff. Please call ahead if the weather is bad and we can tell you whether we will be open or not. Reservations may be rescheduled due to dangerous weather without losing the deposit.
Walk-On Play: We are open for Walk-On Play Saturdays from 8am-4pm, and Sundays from 1pm-5pm. Walk-ons pay the individual rates listed on the Prices page. Our Sunday Special is only $25 and includes the field fee, AirPass, rental equipment, and 500 rounds. Please check our calendar before coming for group reservations or closings. Rental equipment availability may be limited. Players using their own equipment must have their gun chronographed before playing and at any time requested.
Paint: We are a "Field Paint Only" field, which simply means only paint purchased from our pro shop can be used at the field. For more information on this, please give us a call.
Rental Equipment: Rental packages include a Tippmann 98 Custom (or Spyder Sonix), hopper, CO2 tank, mask, barrel blocking device, and all day air. We also have upgraded markers available. These include the Tippmann US Army Alpha Black Tactical Edition and others. We also have other items available for rent including any part of the rental package at individual prices. Rental equipment availability may be limited. Please call ahead to reserve your equipment. Picture ID is required to rent equipment and will be held in the rental shop until equipment is returned. Players will be responsible for rental equipment that is lost or damaged (by reckless use or mistreatment). Players will be charged $7 for lost barrel sleeves.
Food: We offer food and drinks for reasonable prices. Our lunch menu varies week to week, so if you really need to know, just call us. The menu will typically include some type of sandwiches, chips, etc. Feel free to bring your own food, drinks, coolers, grills, whatever. Just be warned - if you're good on the grill, you may have some unexpected visitors (refs, owners, just to name a few!). For group reservations, we can plan out your lunch for you. Just let us know!
Free Play Passes/Discounts: If you have a Free Play Pass, discount, or Gift Certificate, be sure to let us know when you sign in! Free Play Passes cover rental equipment, all day air, and the field fee. A minimum of 500 paintballs must be purchased at the field that day. Free Play Passes cannot be used for private groups, parties, or during special events. Passes are limited to one per person.
Do I need my own equipment? - Hurricane Mountain Paintball has rental equipment available. Rental equipment is given on a first-come, first-served basis, however, players may make reservations for their group to ensure rental equipment availability.
Are their any age limits? - The minimum age for paintball participants is 10 years of age. Players under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by their parents. All players are required to show picture identification (if available). For Laser Tag, players must be at least 6 years old.
What is Laser Tag? - The new Eagle Eye Lag System from Tippman and Predator Games combines the fun of laser tag with the thrill of paintball. The Laser Tag system uses real paintball guns, replacing the hopper with a computer and the barrel with a laser barrel. Laser Tag is played on the same fields as paintball (but not at the same time!). Laser Tag is available for players at least 6 years old.
What about food? - We offer snacks and drinks at the pro shop and we also offer a lunch special. Please call for more details.
Is paintball safe? - Paintball is very safe as long as you follow the rules and use common sense. Any severe injuries come from people simply not following rules - usually removing their mask when they shouldn't. There are, of course, minor injuries such as strains and sprains that are associated with all action sports and paintballs can leave minor bruises. As a whole, paintball is very safe, does not lead to major injuries and only hurts a little bit.
Can I combine discounts and Free Play Passes - No. Free Play Passes and other discounts can not be combined. Neither can other discounts be combined together. If you have any questions, please contact the field.
IMPORTANT - Do not follow directions to the field from Google, MapQuest or any other map site. They will take you down impassable back roads or roads that do not exist.
From Jacksonville: Take Hwy 21 south to Whites Gap Rd and turn left. Go 4.6 miles and turn left onto Hollingsworth Rd. Go 3.9 miles. Hurricane Mountain Paintball is on the left, across from the Nances Creek Community Center. Take the driveway to the top of the hill.

From Heflin / I-20 Exit 199: Take Hwy 9 north toward Heflin/Hwy 78 approximately 1.3 miles. Turn left onto Hwy 78/Hwy9 at the stop sign. Go 4.3 miles and turn right to follow Hwy 9. Continue on Hwy 9 for 11.5 miles and turn left onto Whites Gap Rd (flashing yellow light). Go approximately 1 mile and turn right onto Hollingsworth Rd. Go 3.9 miles. Hurricane Mountain Paintball is on the left, across from the Nances Creek Community Center. Take the driveway to the top of the hill.

Free Play Passes include Field Fee, Standard Rental Equipment, and All-Day Air (AirPass).
- There is a minimum purchase of 500 rounds of paint ($15) per card used.
(Hurricane Mountain Paintball is Field Paint Only meaning that only paint purchased from the pro shop may be used.)
- Free Play Passes are limited to one (1) per customer, with the exception of specially
marked Free Play Passes.
- Free Play Passes are only accepted on Saturdays for regular, walk-on play during normal
operating hours.
- Free Play Passes can not be combined with any other offers, discounts, or specials, and
are not to be used for tournaments, scenario games, or special events.
