The Free Play Pass is just that - a pass that covers the field fee, rental equipment, and air for a day of paintball! All they need to buy is a bag of field paint for only $15. Each pass that you hand out will have your own unique number on it. We keep track of how many play passes are redeemed using your number and give you credit for each pass! It's that easy. The more credits you earn, the more stuff you can get - from a bag of paint all the way up to a Tippmann X7 Phenom and more!

Fields
Trenches
Currently the favorite field, trenches is simply that - trenches and mounds of dirt. But don't let the simple description and pleasant pictures fool you! Trenches is a fast-paced, in-your-face field that requires strategy, teamwork, and guts!
Fort
Our fort field is situated on a landscape that includes a hillside, clearing, woods, and a ditch that runs along the east side of the fort. The fort (which is still under construction) has several key defense points, including a two story tower on the the south corner. Right now the field is used primarily for attack and defend games. We will be adding another fort to the far north side of the field that will open up many other game options.
Tires
The tire field (aka - the junk yard) is an on-going project. As of now, the field consists of mostly tires, car hoods, and other miscellaneous items. Coming soon we will be adding vehicles and even more tires!
The Field
The field is our newest addition and is also an on-going project. Right now it is a field of chest to head-high goldenrod and field grass with paths cut through it. Our plan is to plant bamboo to add a totally different playing experience.
Deep Woods
Deep Woods is without a doubt the toughest field at Hurricane Mountain. It is an overgrown woods field with a unique layout including a creek that runs along the length of the field and a tree that fell disecting the field in two. Because it is overgrown, it takes patience and strategy to gain the victory!

What to Expect
First Things First: Before coming out to play at Hurricane Mountain, check our calendar to make sure that we are open and not reserved. Download the appropriate Waiver and Release of Liability Form from our Downloads page (we have them available at the Pro Shop too). Players under the age of 18 must have their form signed by their parent or legal guardian. All players must be able to provide picture identification for proof of age and/or rental equipment. We are open almost every Saturday from 8am-4pm. Be sure to show up at least 30 minutes early so that we can get you set up and ready to play. Call ahead if you need rental equipment and we can make sure we have what you need when you arrive. Then get your friends together and come out and play!
Weather: In the event of inclement weather (thunderstorms, tornado warnings, etc.), all games will be postponed until the weather clears. We will play in rain, snow, etc., unless it poses a danger to the players or staff. Please call ahead if the weather is bad and we can tell you whether we will be open or not. Reservations may be rescheduled due to dangerous weather without losing the deposit.
Walk-On Play: We are open for Walk-On Play Saturdays from 8am-4pm, and Sundays from 1pm-5pm. Walk-ons pay the individual rates listed on the Prices page. Our Sunday Special is only $25 and includes the field fee, AirPass, rental equipment, and 500 rounds. Please check our calendar before coming for group reservations or closings. Rental equipment availability may be limited. Players using their own equipment must have their gun chronographed before playing and at any time requested.
Paint: We require our field paint to be used in all rental guns. If you own your equipment, we recommend purchasing your paint at the field. We have fresh, premium quality paint in stock as well as higher quality paints available. Our prices are comparable to local stores and the paint is guaranteed. We do prohibit certain paints from being used at our field. Please see the Banned Paint page.
Rental Equipment: Rental packages include a Tippmann 98 Custom (or Spyder Sonix), hopper, CO2 tank, mask, barrel blocking device, and all day air. We also have upgraded markers available. These include the Tippmann US Army Alpha Black Tactical Edition and others. We also have other items available for rent including any part of the rental package at individual prices. Rental equipment availability may be limited. Please call ahead to reserve your equipment. Picture ID is required to rent equipment and will be held in the rental shop until equipment is returned. Players will be responsible for rental equipment that is lost or damaged (by reckless use or mistreatment). Players will be charged $7 for lost barrel sleeves.
Food: We offer food and drinks for reasonable prices. Our lunch menu varies week to week, so if you really need to know, just call us. The menu will typically include some type of sandwiches, chips, etc. Feel free to bring your own food, drinks, coolers, grills, whatever. Just be warned - if you're good on the grill, you may have some unexpected visitors (refs, owners, just to name a few!). For group reservations, we can plan out your lunch for you. Just let us know!
Free Play Passes/Discounts: If you have a Free Play Pass, discount, or Gift Certificate, be sure to let us know when you sign in! Free Play Passes cover rental equipment, all day air, and the field fee. A minimum of 500 paintballs must be purchased at the field that day. Free Play Passes cannot be used for private groups or parties.

FAQs
Do I need my own equipment? - Hurricane Mountain Paintball has rental equipment available. Rental equipment is given on a first-come, first-served basis, however, players may make reservations for their group to ensure rental equipment availability.
Are their any age limits? - The minimum age for paintball participants is 10 years of age. Players under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by their parents. All players are required to show picture identification (if available). For Laser Tag, players must be at least 6 years old.
What is Laser Tag? - The new Eagle Eye Lag System from Tippman and Predator Games combines the fun of laser tag with the thrill of paintball. The Laser Tag system uses real paintball guns, replacing the hopper with a computer and the barrel with a laser barrel. Laser Tag is played on the same fields as paintball (but not at the same time!). Laser Tag is available for players at least 6 years old.
What about food? - We offer snacks and drinks at the pro shop and we also offer a lunch special. Please call for more details.
Is paintball safe? - Paintball is very safe as long as you follow the rules and use common sense. Any severe injuries come from people simply not following rules - usually removing their mask when they shouldn't. There are, of course, minor injuries such as strains and sprains that are associated with all action sports and paintballs can leave minor bruises. As a whole, paintball is very safe, does not lead to major injuries and only hurts a little bit.
Why are certain paints prohibited? - The brands of paintballs listed on the "BANNED PAINT" page leave an oily and non-washable stain on clothing, rental equipment, masks, and property. They will also have a tendency to not break or break in the gun due to extended storage times. We recommend that you buy paint from the field or call before buying or bringing your own paint. We only allow paint purchased at the pro shop to be used in our rental equipment.
Can I combine discounts and Free Play Passes - No. Free Play Passes and other discounts can not be combined. Neither can other discounts be combined together. If you have any questions, please contact the field.
Directions
IMPORTANT - Do not follow directions to the field from Google, MapQuest or any other map site. They will take you down impassable back roads or roads that do not exist.
From Jacksonville: Take Hwy 21 south to Whites Gap Rd and turn left. Go 4.6 miles and turn left onto Hollingsworth Rd. Go 3.9 miles. Hurricane Mountain Paintball is on the left, across from the Nances Creek Community Center. Take the driveway to the top of the hill.
From Anniston/Oxford: Take Hwy 21 north to Whites Gap Rd and turn right Go 4.6 miles and turn left onto Hollingsworth Rd. Go 3.9 miles. Hurricane Mountain Paintball is on the left, across from the Nances Creek Community Center. Take the driveway to the top of the hill.
From Gadsden/Piedmont: Take Hwy 278 toward Hwy 9 south. Take Hwy 9 for 6.5 miles to Hollingsworth Rd and turn right. Go approximately 1 mile. Hurricane Mountain Paintball is on the right, across from the Nances Creek Community Center. Take the driveway to the top of the hill.
From Heflin / I-20 Exit 199: Take Hwy 9 north toward Heflin/Hwy 78 approximately 1.3 miles. Turn left onto Hwy 78/Hwy9 at the stop sign. Go 4.3 miles and turn right to follow Hwy 9. Continue on Hwy 9 for 11.5 miles and turn left onto Whites Gap Rd (flashing yellow light). Go approximately 1 mile and turn right onto Hollingsworth Rd. Go 3.9 miles. Hurricane Mountain Paintball is on the left, across from the Nances Creek Community Center. Take the driveway to the top of the hill.

BANNED PAINT
Why do we ban certain paintballs? Some of the brands listed below leave an oily and non-washable stain on clothing, rental equipment, masks, and property. They will also have a tendency to not break or break in the gun due to extended storage times. These paintballs have received poor reviews and we would hate for you to have a bad day because of sub-standard paint. We recommend that you buy paint from the field or call before buying or bringing your own paint. Please DO NOT even bring these paints to the field. You will not be able to use them.

Downloads
To help speed things up, please download the release to the right, fill it out, and bring it with you to the field. The release is good until September 30th, 2010 - so you only have to fill it out once. If you have any questions, please call or e-mail us.
PARENTS - Anyone under the age of 18 must have a release signed by either their parent or guardian in order to play. There is also a small medical section that must be filled out.
